Ran from home to ECP to witness the AVIVA IRONMAN. Alarm rang at 3.30am n set off at 4:05am. First 10k was behind schedule at 1:10. It's always interesting who we would meet during these LSD; whilst at mid-way of Changi Coastal Rd, a cyclist came by to say hello then at NSRCC when the heavens open, an elderly man in SCM tee gave his morning greetings! Simple gestures like these in the darkness n cold just make my day; they are great morale booster! Reached AVIVA IM start point at 7.15am. Witness the final loop for the elite swimmers and the start of the others. Wha....the swim loop looks so long! Think it would be ok to swim with so many people.
The last swimmer, an overweight Caucasian in his 60's, came in at abt 1hr 20mins; there is hope! Admire his courage to keep going in breast-stroke.
