Did 66K of riding yesterday starting from home to Fort Rd and back. It was like going back to childhood times where the wind blew across my face and feel the speed and freedom! The only problem is the constant pain in the ass! At Tanah Merah Jetty, my butt was screaming to u-turn and go home! But my brain was more powerful, it sent a message to my butt that reads, "SHUT UP you ASSHOLE!" So the legs kept paddling and paddling......
Three quarter way along ECPark, I was wondering why it felt so smooth sailing? I found out soon enough when I u-turn at Fort Rd...the wind began pushing against my entire body! In the first leg the wind was actually aiding me, now I had to push against it and it took an extra 8mins to complete the return stretch at ECPark.
Other than the pain in the ass, there was a little numbness in my left hand; could be due to the backpack or poor flow of blood. Will have to check with my Triathlon Si Fu. At the 45k mark, got down and did some stretches to ease my butt and rest my hip.
Somewhere near the cargo complex, I lost focus for a split moment and next thing I knew I was lying on the path way! Wow...my $3 gloves does work after all! It had saved me from painful injury to my palm. Had some bruises on my right knee, other than that thankfully, no major injuries (and some bruised ego also :)) Began to tired at the 55k mark and was wondering how to ride up the sloping Loyang Ave. Switched to lowest gear possible and charged up the slope. Then its finally home!
Of the 3 disciplines (swimming, biking & running), I think running is the most difficult and the years spent running has conditioned me to withstand the pain and long hours of exertion.
